Adding A New cPanel User

cPanel allows you to create additional user accounts. Each account can have its login information and permissions. In terms of management, it is easier and safer to have the additional accounts use their own login information and specific permissions rather than have them access cPanel with the same login details.

Here is how to add a new user to cPanel

1. Log in to cPanel

2. Navigate to the ‘Preferences’ section and click on ‘User Manager’

3. Click the ‘Add User’ button under ‘User Manager’ to begin creating a new account.

4. Fill in the details of the new user in the menu box that appears

• The Full name is the name of your new user.
• The username is the actual username of the new account.
• Under ‘domain’ you specify the domain/s on your hosting account this user has access to.
• The contact e-mail address is the e-mail address of this user.

Under ‘Security Information,’ you have the option to either create a password for your new user or let them create one on their own. If you choose ‘The User Will Set The Account Password,’ an email with instructions on how to create the password will be sent to the specified email. If you choose ‘Set The User’s Password,’ a dialog box will appear where you will input the password you have created or let the system generate one for you.

Under ‘Services,’ you can enable/disable the services the user can access by clicking the slider next to each of the service boxes.
