⚠️ WARNING: Phishing Attack Targeting HostAfrica Clients

Scammers are sending fake emails pretending to be HostAfrica (info@hostafrica.com). These emails contain a link to a fake PayFast payment page designed to steal your credit card details.
How to Identify This Phishing Scam:
Check the Sender’s Email Address
The phishing email may appear to come from HostAfrica, but on closer inspection, the sender’s email is from a different domain (e.g., hostafrica-pay.com, billing-hostafrica.net).
Always verify that emails come from an official HostAfrica address: @hostafrica.com.
If an email seems suspicious, do not reply or click any links—contact our support team instead.
Fake Payment Requests for “Domain Expiration”
The email falsely claims your domain is about to expire and requires urgent payment.
HostAfrica NEVER sends direct payment links for domain renewals.
All invoices and payments are managed ONLY through our client portal:
Suspicious Links
The email includes a fraudulent PayFast link leading to a fake payment page.
The real PayFast website is https://www.payfast.co.za.
Never click on payment links in emails—always log in to your HostAfrica portal to manage payments.
Fake Website with Stolen Branding
The phishing page looks like PayFast’s real site but is designed to steal your credit card details.
Check the website URL carefully. If it’s not https://www.payfast.co.za, do NOT enter any payment details!
Urgent or Threatening Messages
Scammers try to create panic with messages like:
❌ “Your domain will be suspended if payment is not received.”
❌ “Your domain is expiring today – renew now!”
❌ “Final warning: Your website will go offline.”
HostAfrica will NEVER demand immediate payment via email. Always verify invoices in your client portal.
🚨 What to Do If You Receive This Email?
✅ Do NOT click any links in the email.
✅ Do NOT enter any payment details.
✅ Check the sender’s email address carefully.
✅ Report the email to us at support@hostafrica.com.
✅ Delete the email immediately.
How to Protect Yourself:
Always verify the sender’s email address before taking action.
Only manage domain renewals and payments through our official client portal:

Check website URLs carefully before entering any information.
Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for added security.
If you entered your credit card details, contact your bank immediately to report potential fraud.
