Whois Data Verification
This is simply the information that appears on whois.com about a domain registrant and their contact details.
As per the Whois Data Accuracy Specification which was introduced by Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), also read Registrar Accreditation Agreement, every registrar is required to verify the email address of the registrant contact for each gTLD domain name, within 15 days of;
- A domain name is registered with unverified Registrant Contact email address,
- A domain name being transferred in from another Registrar,
- The Registrant Contact being replaced by a Contact with an unverified email address,
- The email address of the Registrant Contact being modified to an unverified email address,
- An unverified email address being associated with a domain name, after the domain name is moved to another Account.
What are gTLDs (Generic top-level domains)? This are Categories of Top Level Domains (TLDs) maintained by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) for use in the domain name system of the internet. Below is a list of which this requirement is applicable;

.com
.info
.mobi
.net
.org
.pro
What happens after registration?
An email is sent to the registrant contact email address for verification. If the registrant contact does not complete the verification of their email, the domain name is deactivated. The registrant is given a period of 15days to confirm. The domain is only activated once the verification has been completed.
I used a wrong email address, what do I do?
If you use an email address you do not have access to, we can try to create the email address. If at all you cannot gain access to the email, we will need to send a copy of the registrant’s ID or a certificate of registration of the company to change the email address. If you are not able to provide those details, you, unfortunately, will not gain access to your domain until it expires and is back in the market for registration.
NB: Always make sure the email used is correct and accessible. If your business is not registered, kindly register the domain with your personal details to avoid inconveniences.
