A checklist before transferring a domain name

Checklist guide before domain transfer:
- Verify that the domain name is eligible for transfer: Some domain names, such as those that have recently been registered or transferred, may not be eligible for transfer for a certain period.
- Obtain the domain name’s transfer authorization code (also known as an EPP code): This code is required to initiate the transfer and can typically be obtained from the current registrar.
- Check the expiration date of the domain name: A domain name must be valid and not expired to be transferred, At least 10 days before the expiration date.
- Make sure that any privacy protection services on the domain name are disabled: Privacy protection services can prevent the transfer of a domain name and delay the process.
- Confirm the transfer fee and any additional charges: Some registrars may charge a fee to transfer a domain name.
- Verify the contact information for the domain name: The registrant, administrative, and technical contact information should be up-to-date and working.
- Expect a confirmation email: After initiating the transfer, you will receive a confirmation email from the current registrar.
- Approve the transfer: Follow the instructions in the confirmation email to approve the transfer.
- Wait for the transfer to be completed: The transfer process can take up to 7-14 days to complete the transfer.
- Updating Nameserver settings: Once the transfer is completed, update the DNS settings for the domain name to ensure it points to the correct website or email server.
